19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued 4 initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
